Upon completion of one of the following specialisation units, you can add the relevant subcategory to your registration.
Categories of Certificate III in Fitness
Gym Instructor
SISFFIT304A - Instruct and monitor fitness programs
SISFFIT307A - Undertake client health assessment
SISFFIT308A - Plan and deliver gym programs
Group Exercise Instructor
SISFFIT304A - Instruct and monitor fitness programs
SISFFIT309A - Plan and deliver group exercise sessions
Aqua Instructor
SISFFIT304A - Instruct and monitor fitness program

Children’s Instructor*
CHCIC301D - Interact effectively with children

Older Clients’ Instructor*
SISFFIT314A - Plan and deliver exercise to older clients with managed conditions
* Although the Older Adults’ Trainer and Children’s Trainer units are Certificate IV in Fitness specialisations, a Gym Instructor can apply for the Children’s Instructor and Older Adults Instructor categories upon completion of the module and pre-requisite units.

Step by Step guide to adding a category
- Download and complete the Adding a Category Application form. (PDF)
- Make payment online by clicking the add to cart button below.
- Check your email inbox for your receipt and enter your online payment order number in the appropriate field on the form.
- Email or mail your completed Adding a Category Application form with your online payment order number and copies of supporting documents within 7 days of payment.
Please note the following:
- The registration expiry date will not change when adding a category.
- A replacement Registration Certificate will be issued.
- The point allocation of 3 PDPs given to the specialisation and 6 PDPs to a full qualification is carried over and you can claim these points towards the 6 PDPs required for your next registration renewal.
