Registration Advisory Committee Terms of Reference
Statement of Purpose
“To ensure Physical Activity Australia has a registration system that provides for the highest professional standards for registrants, industry and the community”.
Purpose:
- Provide advice to the Physical Activity Australia Board and staff on priority directions for the strategic development of the registration system.
- Assist in shaping the parameters and content of key strategies to improve the standard and management of the registration system and to promote national growth.
- Provide advice on the development of policies and procedures for instructor / trainer registration nationally.
- Assist in the formation of alliances and the promotion of collaboration with key industry stakeholders.
- Assist in the promotion of the value of registration requirements for working in the fitness industry.
- Provide advice for the development and independent quality assurance accreditation system to provide Physical Activity Australia registrants with the opportunity to maintain their competencies and satisfy the criteria for re-registration.
Organisation:
- It is intended that the Registration Advisory Committee will meet face-to-face twice per year, with additional meetings or liaisons, as required, conducted by teleconference.
- Agendas for meetings will be developed by the Manager of Registration with input from the Registration Advisory Committee members.
- A draft agenda will be sent to the Registration Advisory Committee members three weeks before a scheduled meeting for comments and review.
- The final agenda will be sent to the Registration Advisory Committee members one week before the scheduled meeting.
- Minutes of meetings will be sent to the Registration Advisory Committee members within two weeks of the preceding meeting to be adopted at the next meeting.
- A report on the Registration Advisory Committee meetings will be tabled at each Physical Activity Australia Board meeting for their information and consideration.
- These Terms of Reference to be reviewed annually.
