Forget high intensity workouts, wearable technology will be the biggest fitness trend for 2016. The annual survey of over 2500 fitness and health professionals worldwide showed that technology such as Fitbits are now so central to our daily lives, they are the biggest thing in the fitness industry. The survey’s lead author, Walter R Thompson, suggested this may signal “the end of low-cost DIY exercise trend”.

“Wearable devices provide immediate feedback and can make the wearer more aware of their level of activity and motivate the user to achieve their fitness goals.”
